PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white line recognition device for vehicle for acquiring a stable result of recognizing a multiple white line or the like without complicating arithmetic processing such as edge detection. SOLUTION: In right and left white line detection regions on an image, a stereo image recognition device 4 detects a pair of a white line start point Ps and a white line end point Pe for each of retrieval lines L set in the horizontal direction, based on the change in luminance on the retrieval lines L, calculates a midpoint Pm between each pair of the white line start point Ps and white line end point Pe, selects a point group with a smaller dispersion between the point group consisting of the white line start points Ps and the point group consisting of midpoints Pm as target point group based on a predetermined condition, and calculates a white line based on the selected point group.
