PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving apparatus capable of shortening a period of time up to display and control a video when a user performs a channel selection. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiving apparatus includes a first receiving means of receiving a broadcast signal of a first channel, a second receiving means of receiving a broadcast signal of a channel to be selected other than the first channel by switching, and a display control means of performing the display control over the image based upon the broadcast signal received by the first receiving means when a signal indicating selection of the first channel is received or based upon the broadcast signal received by the second receiving means when a signal indicating selection of the channel other than the first channel is input.
