PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transmission and reception sensitivity of an ultrasonic transducer by eliminating the voltage drop of a detection signal due to cable transmission. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic transducer (UT) 27 includes a first piezoelectric body 35, a second piezoelectric body 36, and first to fourth electrodes 37 to 40. Respective electrodes 37 to 40 are connected with first to fifth switches (SWa to SWe) 41 to 45. The first and second piezoelectric bodies 35 and 36 are connected in parallel in ultrasonic transmission, and connected in series in receiving reflected waves. A reception amplifier 47 receives the reflected waves and amplifies a detection signal output from the first and second piezoelectric bodies 35 and 36. The reception amplifier 47 is directly connected with the second electrode 38 without interposing the transmission line of electric capacity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
