PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated wrapping paper excellent in ink color-developing property in flexographic printing, and printing uniformity on aqueous gravure printing, also excellent in processability in varnish-processing and laminate-processing applied as normal wrapping paper, and bag-forming aptitude. SOLUTION: In the coated wrapping paper having a coated layer containing a pigment and an adhesive on at least one side of a stock paper, the stock paper includes bleached kraft pulp containing 30% or more needle bleached kraft pulp having a freeness (CSF) of not less than 500 ml, calcinated kaolin is contained in the pigment in the coated layer, the smoothness of surface of the coated layer is 3-7 μm PPS measured according to the JIS P8151:2004, and also the Oken air resistance is 20 to 500 sec.
