摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which avoids or reduces the fact that a recording paper passed through a printing position deviates from a paper conveying passage and gets involved in a difficult-to-restore situation. SOLUTION: A printer mechanism section 1 includes a head mounting plate 12 for mounting a line thermal head 10; a surface side guide plate 20 fixed onto the downstream side of the head mounting plate 12; a platen roller 19 for defining the printing position A; and a rear surface side guide member 27 fixed onto the downstream side of the platen roller 19. The head mounting plate 12 and the surface side guide plate 20 include a recessed portion 32 to allow mutual insertion when viewed in a width direction of the paper conveyance passage. A paper detector 28 for detecting a forward movement of the recording paper 45 is installed in a space E between the rear surface side guide member 27 and the platen roller 19.
