Disclosed is a digital broadcast reception device, wherein program viewing periods by diversity reception can be made longer by efficient channel scanning, and accuracy in automatic channel switching can be improved. The digital broadcast reception device comprises a channel scan control unit (25) which detects the physical channels which can be received by a second tuner/demodulation unit (22) when a first tuner/demodulation unit (12) is selecting a channel for program viewing and the second tuner/demodulation unit (22) is scanning for physical channels to be sequentially selected, and a broadcast area map generation unit (28) which generates a broadcast area map including receivable physical channels, the broadcast service information related to the broadcast contents of the physical channels, and the current location. The digital broadcast reception device, based on the broadcast area map stored in a broadcast area map storage unit (29) and on the current location, can generate and display a broadcast service list including the broadcast service information of the currently receivable physical channels, or, switch to other receivable channels at the current position.
