Fixed Data, e.g. indication periods, offsets and splits are stored in a fixed Data section of core memory 100 while variable Data, e.g. switching steps, are stored in a variable Data section of memory 100 and instruction Data are stored in an instruction Data section of memory 100. A pulse generator 200 supplies a control device 300 to vary Data of the stored variable data whose values are then compared with those of the fixed Data. Upon coincidences of the Data, device 300 supplies an output for switching signals at an appropriate intersection. Control device 300 performs, in response to second pulses from generator 200 various control operations in accordance with the stored instruction Data. When Data indicating time elapsed from a given reference time is coincident with Data indicating the predetermined indication period, the signal of the corresponding intersection is switched. The control device predicts traffic conditions, indicates traffic conditions, selects the traffic control pattern and selects the intersection control signals. |
