PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus in which a deposit hardly adheres to the part where a valve seat and valve body contact and separate mutually and bubbles are hardly generated in a liquid channel. SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus 1 includes a liquid ejecting head 8 having a nozzle 26 for ejecting a liquid, and a valve unit 12 for opening and closing the liquid channel connected with the liquid ejecting head 8. The valve unit 12 is formed to open and close a channel 15 with the contacting and separating of the valve seat 31 and the valve body 30 while having the valve seat 31 installed in the channel and the valve body 30 which contacts and separates from the valve seat 31. The valve seat 31 has a liquid-repellent part 32 with liquid-repellent property against the liquid in the part contacting to and separating from the valve body 30. The parts 33a and 33b where the valve body 30 contacts to and separates from the valve seat 31 are formed using an elastic body, and the surface of valve seat 31 opposite to the valve body 30 has a slope which projects most in the direction where the valve seat 31 and the valve body 30 contact and separate in the downstream rather than the part where the valve seat 31 and the valve body 30 contact and separate.
