PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid receiving device which maintains favorably for a long period of time, a liquid receiving capacity for receiving a liquid ejected as a waste liquid from a liquid jetting head while restricting a consumption amount of a liquid with a function of suppressing a deposition of the liquid, and to provide a liquid jetting apparatus equipped with the liquid receiving device. SOLUTION: A bottomed box body 32 is provided which can store the water with the function of suppressing deposition of the ink ejected from a recording head 29 and whose upper part is opened. The ink is ejected towards a liquid level of the stored liquid in the box body 32 from the recording head 29 in a state that the water is stored in the box body 32 and the recording head 29 is positioned above the box body 32.
