PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition which has excellent transparency, when made into a transparent composite sheet, as well as a small linear expansion coefficient and small water absorption dimensional change rate, to provide a transparent composite sheet which has excellent transparency, and a small linear expansion coefficient and small water absorption dimensional change rate, and to provide a substrate for display elements which exhibits excellent performance. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition includes an epoxy compound and curing agent, wherein the epoxy compound contains a particular diepoxy bicyclohexyl compound and the content of isomer of the compound is 0.01-8 wt.% of the total amount of epoxy compound. The transparent composite sheet is obtained by curing a composite composition containing the epoxy resin composition described above and a glass filler.
