SCREENING METHOD FOR THE VALIDATION OF ANTIOXIDANT EFFECTS USING DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER EXPRESSING HPRXII

PURPOSE: A screening method for the validation of antioxidant effects using drosophila melanogaster expressing hPrxII is provided to exhibit antioxidant effects by suppressing the damage of functions of mitochondria. CONSTITUTION: A screening method for the validation of antioxidant effects using drosophila melanogaster expressing hPrxII comprises the steps of: (i) causing oxidative stress in transformed Drosophila; (ii) treating an object compound in Drosophila in which the oxidative stress is caused; (iii) measuring an expression level of peroxiredoxin II mRNA or protein in the treated Drosophila; (iv) selecting an object compound increasing an expression level of peroxiredoxin II mRNA or protein by comparing with a control group which is not treated; (v) measuring whether the object compound suppresses oxidative stress; and (vi) selecting the object compound suppressing oxidative stress.
