PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope having excellent bending resistance. SOLUTION: The wire rope 10 is used for fixing a wheelchair to a loading position, and is formed by twisting a plurality of strands formed by twisting many wires 12 subjected to area reduction working. The wire rope 10 is not subjected to swaging processing, and the area-reducing rate of each of the wires 12 represented by (1-s/a)×100% (wherein, (a) is the cross-section area of each of the wires 12 before the area reduction working; and s is the cross-section area after the area reduction working) is from 97.5 to 98.5%. The bending resistance of the wire rope 10 is improved because the swaging processing is not applied. The deteriorations of flexibility and tensile strength caused by the non-execution of the swaging processing are suppressed by setting the area reduction rate of the wire 12 constituting the wire rope 10 as the above.
