<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shortening times for detecting defective ink discharge and impact displacement. <P>SOLUTION: The inspecting method for defective recording includes a recording step for recording test patterns for each of a plurality of ink colors by a plurality of recording heads to a recording medium, an imaging step for imaging the recorded test patterns for each of the ink colors by a scanner, an analyzing step for analyzing the imaged test patterns for each of the ink colors in series and for detecting the defective recording for each of the ink colors. In the inspection method, the analyzing step selects the recording heads with high defective recording occurrence frequency out of the plurality of recording heads and first analyzes the test pattern recorded by the recording heads. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
