<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a power conversion apparatus compact by distributing the electrical connection wires of each split transformer and unit power conversion apparatus and to make each split transformer compact by sharing a cooling air passage as a duct between the unit power conversion apparatus and the split transformer. <P>SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus of multistage structure includes a plurality of three-phase unit power conversion apparatus connected in series to produce a high voltage AC output; an input transformer constituted of the split transformer which is split for each stage; and each split transformer arranged on the back side of the unit power conversion apparatus at each stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
