PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a detection error is large, a detection delay is caused, and a flow rate detection error is generated in a conventional method in which, when operating an air flow rate for each prescribed time from a frequency output signal of an air flowmeter, the latest one period of the signal is converted into a flow rate for each prescribed time to obtain a detection flow rate. SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine reduces response delay by performing differential correction of a detection flow rate in a transient region. Further, rather than calculating a flow rate after calculating an average period to perform the conversion into the flow rate, a signal of the air flowmeter is converted into the flow rate for each period to perform average processing by the unit of the flow rate.
