PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance performance of signal detection by adding a noise of suitable intensity to a multi-value signal which is input to a signal detecting device whose parameter such as a threshold is not optimum. SOLUTION: A plurality of noise addition units 11, ..., 1W add noises of two or more kinds of intensity to multi-value signals which are input respectively. A plurality of detection units 21, ..., 2W detect the multi-value signals to which the noises are added to acquire detection results of respective samples. A center unit 6 integrates the detection results of the respective samples that the detection units 21, ..., 2W acquire respectively to obtain a final detection result corresponding to the respective samples. An evaluation amount calculation unit 3 calculates evaluation amounts representing levels of the performance of the signal detection as to the multi-value signals to which the noises are added using the final detection result. A noise intensity determination unit 5 compares the evaluation amounts to determine an intensity of a noise enhancing the performance of the signal detection. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
