A process for the production of expandable resin particles, which comprises bringing starting resin particles (which can form expandable resin particles) into contact with an ultraviolet absorber when impregnating the starting resin particles with a blowing agent. The expandable resin particles obtained by the process have ultraviolet-screening properties.
