The present invention relates to a mobile communication system, and more particularly to a mobile communication system for providing a short distance wireless data communication service within a designated zone, a mobile communication terminal, and a method thereof, which can perform short distance wireless data communication through a short distance wireless data communication network as well as mobile communication through a mobile communication network within a zone designated by a user. The present invention satisfies requests of both a mobile communication provider and a mobile communication terminal provider by permitting the user to designate at least one zone and performing the short distance wireless data communication within the designated zone.
