PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a display apparatus are provided to improve a display quality by offering a backlight unit with uniform brightness. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit of a display device comprises a substrate, a plurality of light sources(212) placed on the substrate, a resin layer(230) including a groove(231) in which the light source is inserted, and a light diffusing unit(231b) for diffusing light from a light source. An inner surface of the groove is separated from a light emitting part. The resin layer is closely adhere to an upper part of the substrate. A reflection sheet is attached to the substrate.
