<p>Sympathomimetic substd beta-aminoketones. N3A. Are of formula (I). including salts. thereof:- (Where R' = R4 - R4= lower alkyl or PhCH2; R5= H, lower alkyl, or PhCH2; R2= H or Me; R3= H or lower alkyl; and X= (1-6C) alkyl; or if R2=R3=H, X=(CH2)nNHCH2 COR' where n=2-12). In addition to being sympathomimetics, compounds (I) are also intermediates for phenylalkanolamines having sympathomimetic, broncholytic, and hypertensive activity. They may be prepared as follows:- (i) Al2Cl6/H Hal Solvent (pref. PhNO2) Below 40 degrees (ii) Alkanol Hydrolyse right arrow (I) (H2O or H2O/alkanol) (X'=(1-6C) alkyl or if R2=R3=H, X'=-(CH2)nNHCH2CN; X2=(1-6C) alkyl or if R2=R3=H, X2= -(CH2)n NHCH2 ').</p> |
