In a double friction disc clutch wherein presser plates 2, 4 are urged apart by a diaphragm spring 3 to clamp driven discs 5, 6 against an end plate 1 of a clutch cover 31 and against a driving flywheel 30, the presser plates are connected to the clutch cover 31 by flexible tangential straps 18, 21 secured by bolts 35, 36 to the cover 31 at axially and peripherally staggered points 20, 23.
