PURPOSE: A method for charging a battery pack and the battery pack are provided to prevent the damage of a battery or external power source caused by trickle charge current and to improve safety. CONSTITUTION: A method for charging a battery pack comprises the steps of: (S1) determining whether charging current exists or not; (S3) if charging current exists, determining whether the charging current and charging voltage are changed; (S4) if charging current and charging voltage are changed, the charging current is changed from a first current level to a second current level lower than the first current level and the present voltage of a battery is more reduced than former voltage; and (S5) if the present voltage is reduced than the former voltage, maintaining the charging current to a second current level. |
