<p>The method involves heating a heat-shrinkable sleeve (1) at a temperature sufficient to cause retraction of the sleeve around an object. The sleeve that defines a gripped strip (6) extending between an end edge (3) and a threading boundary of the sleeve, is formed. Cut portions (12) that are symmetrically opposite relative to a symmetry axis of the sleeve, are formed in the strip. The sleeve is placed around the object until the boundary. The strip is retracted during heating, such that the cut portions form openings. The openings and the edge define a handle (17) extending outside the object. An independent claim is also included for a package comprising strips extending close to and freely with respect to each other.</p> |
