PURPOSE: A series combustion engine is provided to improve the efficiency and output of an engine and reduce smoke, since a series of cylinders of the engine combust consecutively. CONSTITUTION: A series combustion engine comprises a series of cylinders. A first cylinder performs lean combustion. A second engine performs combustion by the supply of O2 Rich exhaust gas generated after lean combustion. As the temperature of the O2 Rich exhaust gas is controlled, output and efficiency are controlled.
