The device (60) has a sealed fabric (66) placed in an upper part and dimensioned to surround side walls (54) of a waste collection container (52) upto height of the container. A water evacuation opening (80) is formed at a lower end of a sealed rigid bag (68), and a structure is provided for supporting the fabric and comprises a set of profiles (70, 72) and an upper panel that is arranged horizontally to cover an upper wall. A lifting unit is connected to the upper panel for lifting the container, where an upper end of the fabric is fixed at the upper panel. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a waste collection container.
