<p>Perfluoroalkylalkylmonocarboxylic esters (I) are of formula: (where r and R1 and C4-C14 perfluoroalkyl groups; Q and Q C1-C10 acyclic alkylene, or C5-C6 cycloalkylene; A and A1 are alkyl; E and E1 are -OOC-, -O-, or -OOC-NY- where Y is H or lower alkyl; G is -C(CH2)=CH2 or -CH=C(X)- where X is Me or H, n is 1 or 2 and the OH group is in 2-posn. relative to R-COO-or R1-COO- groups). Homopolymers of (I) copolymers of (I) with acrylic/methacrylic derivs., styrene, vinyl halides etc. are also prepd. The homo- and copolymers of this invention can be used to make oleophobic finishes on leather, paper, textiles, etc., and also glass and metals.
