PURPOSE: A relay and a passive optical network system including the same are provided to reduce the amount of optical cables by having an optical line monitoring function based on TDM-PON. CONSTITUTION: An optical combining/dividing unit(200) combines or divides a probe optical signal according to a specific path. An optical signal relay unit(300) transmits an upper/lower data optical signal to the optical combining/dividing unit. An optical line measuring unit(120) measures the optical fiber property of an optical line.
