PURPOSE: A method of determining sea-condition related variables is intended to provide sea-condition related variables, which are independent of a weather condition and has high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A method of determining sea-condition related variables is as follows. The movement of the center of gravity of a ship is detected. A parameter for the movement of the center of gravity is determined, which depends on sea-condition related variables(a, Ak). One or more sea-condition related variables are determined from the parameter. The movement of the center of gravity is detected for 5 to 30minutes' duration. The movement of the center of gravity is statistically considered by some wave trains, which pass the ship.
