Ethyl trichlorophenyl-carbamate - herbicidal compositions

Herbicidal compositions for rice-fields contain ethyl N-(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)-carbamate (I) as active ingredient. They may also contain, in addn., S-(4-chlorobenzyl) N,N-diethylcarbamate (II) or (2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxy)-thioacetic acid S-ethyl ester (III). The composns. selectively kill weeds such as barnyard grass, march grass, water-wort, false pimpernel and tooth cup without injuring rice plants. Combination of (I) with (II) extends the activity of (I) to include spike-rush and combination of (I) with (III) improves the activity against broadleaved weeds.
