PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inserter which can prevent an open circuit caused by a node part by preventing catching etc., in the node part when a cord having the node part is passed through the inserter and a rubber-coated head for an extruder having the inserter. SOLUTION: In the inserter 1 which arranges two or more cords in a prescribed pitch and has a tip opening 3, a base end opening 2, and a cord passage 4 making the tip opening and the base end opening communicate together, the diameter of the cord passage 4 is reduced from the base end opening 2 toward the tip opening 3.
