Cpd. of formula (I): (where R is 1-7C alkyl, and R1 is H, halogen, OH, lower alkyloxy, or lower alkyl) is prepd. by reacting ROOC-CHNH2-CH2-Ph-R1 with an amino protected asparaginyl anhydride of formula: and then removing the protective P gp. Pref. P is CHO. Cpds (I) are sweeteners.</p> |
