A crowded display may be avoided because only selected displays are displayed, with the location, size, or relative size, of the selected streams being configurable to provide an optimal overall display, The computer terminal may provide the local display in addition to the GUI. The video-collaboration apparatus 1 may additionally receive a media stream from other computers on a LAN or WAN distinct from the network 2. The GUI may use thumbnail images.
