Hardened cellular epoxy resins are made by mixing together one or more polyepoxide compounds, a foaming agent, a hardener which is a cycloaliphatic polyamine containing at least 2 primary amino groups and 5-25% by wt. of an accelerator which is a polyhydric phenol. The polyepoxide may be a condensation product of epichlorhydrin with bisphenol A, dihydroxy-diphenyl methane or a novolak. The foaming agent may be n-pentane or monofluorotrichloromethane. The polyamine may be a hydrogenated condensation product of aniline and formaldehyde or 4, 41-diaminodicyclohexyl. methane. The phenol may be a novolak. A pore regulator, e.g. a silicone oil may be used.
