<p>Non-agglomerating pigment powders are prepd. by contacting primary organic pigment particles with particles of a polymer suspended in an inert liquid, and filtering, washing, drying and grinding the product. Used for colouring printing inks and paints. The powders do not form aggregates, and also do not cause formation of slime in printing inks, or bloom in paints. Pref. a soln. of an organic pigment is added to a suspension of the polymer particles, and the pigment pptated by addition of a complexing agent. A diazonium cpd. is reacted with a coupling component to form a ppt. in an aqs. suspension of the polymer particles.</p> |
