<p>An assistance system for a motor vehicle having means for generating a signal as a function of a current vehicle location in relation to a location on a route being travelled along by the vehicle, characterized by a memory in which locations of a transportation route network are assigned to stationary periods, and by an embodiment of the signal-generating means such that they generate a signal for shutting down a driving machine of the motor vehicle if the vehicle reaches a location on the transportation route network which is assigned a stationary period which is above a specific threshold value, and a method for generating a signal in an assistance system in a motor vehicle as a function of a current location of the vehicle in relation to a location on a route being travelled along by the vehicle, characterized in that a signal for shutting down a driving machine is generated if the location of the vehicle reaches a location on the transportation network which is assigned a stationary period which is above a specific threshold value. The invention has the advantage of assisting a driver of a vehicle in implementing a driving style which saves resources and generates little pollution.</p> |
