[Also in Division B1] A fire extinguishing foam is produced at the moment of use by mixing a halogenated hydrocarbon and an aqueous solution in an airtight container, and treating the mixture with air at the outlet of the container. For example, the pressurised hydrocarbon in 2 (Fig. 1) and solution in 1 may be mixed in tube 4 and discharged via pipe 5 through Venturi cone 8 and expansion chamber 9. Chlorobromodifluoromethane and methylene bromide are specified. |
