PURPOSE: A device and method for testing a free fall impact are provided to perform a repeated precise test by preventing rotation inertia when falling. CONSTITUTION: A method for testing a free fall impact is as follows The weight of a falling object is measured in order to set the rigidity of a connection line(4) connecting the falling object and a falling object fixing support(3). The maximum span with regards to the length and width direction of the falling object is measured respectively. The total length of the connection line of the falling object about the selected shaft in the length and width direction is respectively set. The gravity point of the falling object coincident with the gravity point of the connection line on any two planar shafts is grasped. The falling object is rotated at an arbitrary angle by using a posture setting device. The falling object is dropped by using a falling object attaching device(5) after being mounted on a fixing support with a connection line in order to maintain the position of the falling object according to test conditions by using confirmed connection line length information. The movement of the falling object is recorded by a recording device on impact. A data collecting device stores and analyzes falling impact magnitude from a falling impact area and the acceleration of the falling object.
