摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent freezing of water generated with power generation when starting up a fuel cell at low temperatures. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell 2 having an anode electrode 2b and a cathode electrode 2c on both sides of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2a and generating power by electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen; a fuel supply means 20 for supplying hydrogen to the anode 2b; a compressor 6 for compressing air; an air passage 31 that has a main passage 32 having a heat sink 7 and a bypass passage 33 bypassing the heat sink 7, and leads the air compressed by the compressor 6 to the cathode 2c; a temperature sensor 8 for detecting the temperature of air discharged from the fuel cell 2; and a control means for switching the air feeding between the main passage 32 and the bypass passage 33 based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 8. The solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2a is made of a material whose temperature at an inflection point of tensile storage elastic modulus is higher than the maximum temperature of air on the outlet side of the compressor when a warm-up is performed at below the freezing point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
