<p>Powdered cement, dyestuffs etc. are separated into coarse and fine fractions by apparatus with a bladed rotor above an inner chamber through which a stream travels upwards to be directed horizontally through a set of vanes towards the outer chamber, pass down the gap between them, and enter the inner chamber through a set of apertures about half way up, to impinge upon a distributor forming the lower part of the rotor. The finer fraction passes down the gap between the chambers, to leave by the bottom outlet of the outer chamber, and the coarser fraction passes through the bottom outlet of the inner chamber.</p> |
