<p>Tin is recovered from solns. contng. ionic or free tin and an at least stoichiometric quantity of an alkali metal hydroxide by treating with a concentrated alkali metal hydroxide so that the available tin is precipitated as an alkali metal stannate. For recovering tin used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, e.g. the prodn. of alpha-tocopherol. The tin is recovered efficiently in the form of relatively pure alkali metal stannate.</p> |
