PURPOSE: A therapeutic agent for benign prostatic hyperplasia using a drug delivery system is provided to continuously release drug in a gastrointestinal tract. CONSTITUTION: A therapeutic agent for benign prostatic hyperplasia using a drug delivery system contains a continuous phase of hydrophobic polymer-coated pellet and a continuous phase containing hydrochloric acid alfuzosin and hydrophilic polymers. The hydrophobic polymer is cellulose derivative, polyvinyl acetate, or methacrylic acid-methyl ester copolymer. The hydrophilic polymers are polyethylene oxide.
