In a mechanical glueing machine capable of simultaneous bonding of a number of articles end-to-end, means. are provided for clamping the articles in both directions in a space provided and of applying pressure during bonding. Manual handling is avoided and the articles are held firmly under a uniform pressure. The machine has two clamps which slide with respect to each other and are brought together under pressure by a spring operated cam, a screw or a hydraulic jack. Shaped orifices between them fit exactly the articles to be bonded, and plates carrying the orifices may be changed to suit other articles. |
