PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for inputting a text message and a program thereof stored in a recording medium are provided to include a unit for analyzing the emotion information of an inputted text message so that a user may easily input an emoticon most proper to the emotion information. CONSTITUTION: A text input unit(13) selects a text through the selection of a user and selects a recommended emoticon. An emoticon recommendation function selector(14) selects an emoticon recommendation function. If the emoticon recommendation function is selected, an emotion information analysis unit(15) analyzes the emotion information of the inputted text. A recommended emotion extracting/providing unit(16) extracts and provides emoticons according to the analysis result. A text message input controller(10) controls the emoticon recommendation function, and inserts the selected emoticon into a sentences.
