PURPOSE: A composition containing nanochitosan for preventing and treating diabetic disorders is provided to reduce blood insulin concentration and total cholesterol concentration. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating diabetic disorders contains 0.1-50 weight% of nanochitosan of 100-1000 nm as an active ingredient. The composition also contains casein, L-cystine, sucrose, corn starch, dystrose, soybean oil, t-butylhydroquinone, and choline bitartrate. The diabetic disorder is diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic neuropathy, nephropathy, atherosclerosis, or myocardium failure.
