Cpds. of formula Q-NH-C(NR1)NHCN (where Q is a gp. and R1 = H, lower alkyl or benzyl opt. ring-substd. by 1 or 2 of halogen, lower alkyl or alkoxy) are novel cpds. prepd. by reaction of Q-NH-C(NR1)-SR2 (where R2 = lower alkyl) with cyanamide.
