<p>(A) Dihydroprostaglandin E1 series cpds.:- (I) R = H or Me R1 = H or 1-12 C carboxylic acyl R2 = H or Me (only one R2 can be Me) R3 = H or 1-12 C alkyl R4 = 1-8 C alkyl n = 0 or 1. (B) Corr. cpds. with ring:- (II) and where n = 0, 1 or 2. (C) Multistage synthesis of (I) and (II) involving various specified novel intermediates, and conversion to known cpds. (I), (II) and intermediates in their prepn. have various activities including:- hypotensive, smooth muscle stimulating, fertility controlling, CNS regulatory, water-retention regulatory, fat metabolic regulatory, serum cholesterol lowering, antimicrobial, blood pressure changing, vasopressin-blocking, fluid transport altering, cell growth influencing (inhibit cell differentiation during growth); (I) and (II) can be substd. for prostaglandins for use in essays, tests etc.</p> |
