1327295 Cross-linking copolymers DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 4 May 1971 [5 May 1970 2 June 1970] 13084/71 Heading C3P Shaped, cross-linked products are obtained by mixing a copolymer of vinyl chloride and a maleic or fumaric ester with plasticizer, stabilizer and lubricant at 145-175‹ C., cooling to 110-130‹ C., incorporating an organic peroxide active only at a temperature of at least 150‹ C., shaping the mixture and simultaneously or subsequently heating to a temperature at which the peroxide is decomposed; a foaming agent may also be present. In a preferred embodiment a cross-linking monomer is also added, in examples this is triallyl cyanurate. The preferred maleic or fumaric ester is the dicetyl ester. Peroxides used in the examples are dicumyl peroxide, 1,3-bis(tert. butyl peroxy isopropyl) benzene and tert. butyl cumyl peroxide, and azodicarbonamide is used as blowing agent. |
