1311712 Spray carburetters SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 23 June 1970 [21 July 1969] 30367/70 Heading F1B In a carburetter having main and slow speed supply sytems, a starting choke valve 8, for increasing fuel flow during starting and cold running of the engine, and an accelerator pump 2 which via linkage 14, 22, 19 is caused to effect a pumping stroke on opening of the throttle valve 3, the delivery capacity of the pump is increased when the choke valve is utilized so that increased acceleration fuel is delivered when the engine is cold. Closure of choke valve 8 by rod 27 angularly adjusts an eccentric shaft member 20, 24 and thereby moves the pivotal axis C of lever 19 away from the axis of actuating pin 18 of pump diaphragm 15. Thus the effective stroke of the pump diaphragm and thereby the quantity of fuel delivered during engine acceleration, is increased. Cam 11 and lever 12 cause the throttle valve to open slightly when the choke valve is closed. The choke valve may have an eccentric axle so as to be opened automatically by the air flow. |
