PURPOSE: A method for content adaptive coding mode selection is provided to apply a critical value to update and select a block having improper movement information, thereby converting a current mode into an encoded mode within a screen. CONSTITUTION: In case sum total(Usum) of extra data(U) added to all even frames is smaller than or equal to a first threshold value(S40), the Usum is compared with second threshold value(JNDsum,S70). In case the Usum is higher than JNDsum, JND whose size is changed based on pixel value within an image is adjusted into the critical value of U and the update is limited(S90). Update procedure is advanced using existing MCTF(Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering) on each pixel within the block whose mode is not changed(S100). |
