The method involves supplying power to light sources e.g. LEDs, of lighting or signaling devices (14, 16) by a pulsed signal type single power supply and control unit (12) that is connected in series with the light sources, where the light sources of the lighting or signaling devices are connected in series with each other. The single power supply and control unit is associated to one of the lighting or signaling devices, where the lighting or signaling devices provide day running light function. An independent claim is also included for a lighting or signaling system for a vehicle, comprising lighting or signaling devices.
